Michael Gallagher is one of nine partners at Cornerstone Advisers and is based in the Downers Grove office.
Mike’s history is one of the most unique among the firm’s partners. Driven by his desire to help others, Mike studied criminal justice at Western Illinois University. Following graduation, he served in the Illinois Army National Guard for 11 years, and protected his community as a police officer until 2004. When his family began to grow, he transitioned into the family business and became a financial advisor, applying his life goal of assisting others in a brand new manner.
For nearly a decade, Mike’s approach of doing the right thing for his clients in every circumstance has allowed him to build relationships with hundreds of individuals in the Chicagoland area. He especially enjoys moving through different stage of life with families, like marriage, children, new jobs, grandchildren, and retirement. Mike loves the experience of serving as an advisor to multiple generations within the same family, which allows him to truly understand a family’s values and dreams, and apply them to their financial futures.
Mike believes one of the biggest challenges around financial strategies for families is communicating between generations. His job is to help bridge the gap between his clients and their children or grandchildren, and bring families together to understand their financial futures.
In his spare time: Mike and his wife juggle three adult daughters spread across the country and the daily needs of their pre-teen daughter as well as providing daily care for his wife's grandparents.
