Jim Hogan is one of nine partners at Cornerstone Advisers and is based in the Downers Grove office.
Throughout his early career years as a CPA, Jim came to find that his clients were often given advice from financial advisers seeking to make the fastest or most profitable investments for themselves. Because of this, he chose to take the necessary steps to offer financial services to his clients as an Investment Adviser Representative in order to ensure they received unbiased and trustworthy guidance.
For over 20 years, Jim has provided his clients with holistic wealth management and tax planning services. His personalized approach allows him to know his clients well, leading to longstanding relationships with families across generations. Jim especially enjoys working with his clients to understand the tax implications of their investments. By combining tax services with wealth management strategies, he can offer his clients a more complete picture of what their financial futures may look like.
Jim believes one of the biggest challenges people face today is misinformation, specifically around topics like Social Security and Medicare. While Jim views Google and the Internet as wonderful tools, he maintains that they can also serve as vehicles for inappropriate advice. His goal is to provide his clients with personalized solutions that they can’t get online, as well as education on topics that matter when planning for their futures. Jim makes it a point to provide the best advice possible, not only from himself, but also from his trusted partners at Cornerstone Advisers and their professional network.
In his spare time, Jim enjoys traveling, socializing with family and friends, cheering on Chicago sports teams and community involvement. He has been on the Board of Directors at the Tri-Town YMCA for nearly 30 years, and also serves on the Lombard Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. Jim also volunteers his time and experience to the Village of Lombard as a member of their finance committee.
