David Strulowitz, one of nine partners at Cornerstone Advisers, the wealth management and planning firm, directs the Skokie office. David is a tax attorney and has written extensively on financial, estate and tax planning matters, including a quarterly investment newsletter. He has spoken both locally and nationally on financial matters, including appearances on WGN radio’s “Noon Business Hour” with Sherman Kaplan and Kris Kridel.
His clientele consists of successful Chicago professionals, business owners and retirees. His guidance aims to assist them in making insightful financial decisions that may help accumulate assets and enable them to look forward to retirement in the lifestyle they desire.
In addition to his extensive experience helping people with their financial, investment and estate matters, David was the Senior Vice President for Terra Securities Corp., a GE Financial company, where he managed national support teams and was responsible for the financial planning activities of over 1200 accountants nationally. In this role, David helped thousands of individuals, families, and businesses receive holistic financial advice from trusted advisors.
David built his firm around one core concept – that the client’s needs must always be the priority. This approach allows him to uncover creative solutions to the challenges his clients face as he works with them to plan for a secure financial future. David especially enjoys helping independent women address their challenges as they balance careers, families, and everything in between. With all his clients, he aims to take financial worry out of the picture, and use all the resources of the Cornerstone Advisers team to help them reach their goals.
David began his career as a tax attorney, receiving his JD from Boston University’s School of Law, and an LL.M. in taxation from New York University’s School of Law.
David’s commitment to his community is evident as he continues to serve in leadership roles and on the boards for several nonprofit organizations. A longtime resident of Chicago’s North Shore, David enjoys the outdoors, teaching spirituality classes, and the blessing of spending time with his wife Sue, their children, and grandchildren.
